Governance
We are a financially stable, locally significant employer committed to providing employment in Finland. Our key themes in governance and financial responsibility focus on cybersecurity, business ethics, and profitability and financial stability.
Our sustainability program is based on our group’s ethical guidelines, which were formalized in written form in 2023. The aim of our ethical guidelines is to ensure that everyone working within our company has a shared understanding of the principles guiding our work. The main points of the guidelines are:
- We comply with the law and act with honesty.
- We respect human rights.
- We promote occupational safety and well-being.
- We handle data and assets carefully.
- We do not offer or accept bribes.
- We care for the environment.
- We communicate openly and constructively.
- We aim for continuous improvement.
Our company’s ownership strategy defines financial profitability targets. Efficient and profitable operations, along with investment capability, are essential for the continuity of our business. Sustainability work at Outokummun Metalli
In 2023, we decided to integrate the development of ESG themes (environmental, social, governance) more systematically into our company’s daily operations. We have identified key focus areas and are developing a sustainability program with clear targets and reporting practices. While Outokummun Metalli is not subject to official reporting requirements (such as the EU’s CSRD directive), we are committed to advancing our sustainability efforts proactively.
