Developing safety skills through training
Safety – and especially occupational safety – is an essential part of our everyday work. Our commitment to it is continuous: we actively improve our practices and strengthen safety awareness across our entire work community.
This autumn, we placed a special focus on safety by organizing several practical training sessions, including fire extinguisher and evacuation drills as well as crane operation training.
During the fire extinguisher drill, participants practiced using extinguishers correctly and learned how to act safely in case of a fire. Quick and proper use of an extinguisher can often prevent a small fire from spreading. The evacuation exercise emphasized calm and safe exit procedures from all work areas and familiarized everyone with the assembly point routines. Both sessions were carried out in cooperation with the North Karelia Rescue Department’s Outokumpu unit.
The crane training took place on our premises and was led by an instructor from Konecranes. It was designed for crane operators and supervisors responsible for safe crane operations in daily work. The training covered topics such as load fastening, correct lifting and driving practices, and relevant safety regulations.
A warm thank-you to all participants as well as the trainers for their professional guidance – improving safety is always a team effort!
